Main interests: Emergency medicine in low resource setting, research in response to humanitarian crisis and conflict

Miranda has a background of emergency nursing, having previous worked in Western Australia. She got involved in clinical research whilst in Australia, completing a Masters in Public health and Tropical Medicine.
She currently works as the Research Manager for the Emergency Medicine Research Group of Edinburgh (EMERGE), managing a large team providing clinical research in the busy Emergency Department.
Miranda has extensive experience of working in humanitarian crisis and conflict, having worked on in a wide range of situations with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Africa and the Middle East over the last 20 years.
She continues to have an active interest in humanitarian crisis alongside clinical research for care improvement. She recently supported a project during the West Africa Ebola crisis.
